The Game Fair 2025
Cows, Trolls and Coin Flips! My round up of The Game Fair 2025
I was so happy that The Game Fair was back at Ragley Hall this year, as it means I only had to drive 15 minutes down the road from Stratford-upon-Avon to get there. My stand was position on the outer edge and I had a lot more customers find my stand this year.
I chose to do another live drawing, this time of a Highland Cow. Perhaps a subject that has been over done, but I also had never drawn one and thought it would be great to add to my portfolio. My neighbour, Josh, from Northern Log Cabins, suggested I call my cow painting 'Ragley' to honour the Ragley Estate the show was being held on.
One of my favourite moments of the event was when one of my new collectors couldn't decide on whether he wanted a piece of my art or not and his son suggested he did a coin flip for it. Heads, he buys it, tails he doesn't. You imagine how overjoyed I was when it landed on heads and I now have a fantastic new collector who has already told me he reckon he would have still bought it, if it had landed on tails.
I don't like to dwell on too many negatives, but there was one moment where I had a real life 'trolling' that you normally only get on social media. A women walked past and commented on my Regina boot print (a drawing I did of a pair of Fairfax and Favor boots), saying rather too loudly 'Who would buy that?!!'. Sadly, I am too slow at comebacks but little does she know that the Regina boot print is my BEST SELLER!
Overall, it was a fantastic experience again. Being my second year, I had learnt how to improve my stand but I already have tons more that I need to do to improve next year. I'm going to spend the next 10 months working on Game Fair exclusive art, and promote my work to people planning on attending already. The Game Fair 2026 is going to be even better!
Thank you so much for reading my little blog, please drop me a comment if you enjoyed it.
