Artists Biography

Georgie Turner is a British equestrian, country, and game artist inspired by the everyday beauty of rural life. Horses play a major role in her work, taking inspiration from her own life with horses at home, the equestrian lifestyle and horse sports.

Working in a variety of media, but predominately colour pencil and pastel, her distinctive style blends life-like detail with expressive and dynamic marks. Georgie is well known for capturing horses in her ‘nosy pony’ style, where the muzzle is in the forefront of the image. Intimate connection happens between horses and humans through their muzzles, and drawing horses like this is a way of connecting people to horses through art, in the same way you would connect with a horse in real life.

Georgie creates her own original artwork, prints and takes on commissions. She has a large client base in the UK, America and Australia. Georgie has worked with many clients, including Cheltenham Racecourse, where she created legendary racehorses in her unique nosy pony style. Her artwork has been exhibited across the UK, but many of her collectors find her through social media. Georgie also exhibits at equestrian and game fairs, where she loves to display her art to those who share her love of the countryside.

Georgie studied Art at A-Level, before earning a BA Honours in Graphic Design at Gloucestershire University and a PGCE in Secondary Art & Design at Warwick University. Despite her formal training as a teacher, her coloured pencil and pastel work is entirely self-taught, a journey that has allowed her to develop a unique and personal approach to her subject matter.

Living in Stratford-upon-Avon with her husband, children, dogs, and horses, Georgie is deeply inspired by the traditions, heritage, and way of life that define the British countryside. Horses have always been a huge part of rural Britain and through her equestrian art, she celebrates the culture that keeps the countryside alive.
