This Landrover print was created to celebrate the true character of a working Landrover Defender. I wanted the artwork to stay honest, showing the rust, dirt and wear that comes from a vehicle that has earned its place in the countryside. The print reflects the craftsmanship and grit of landowners, farmers and equestrians who spend long days hauling hay across fields or heading out to help an injured sheep.

This showjumping print that grew from a real desire for change, moving beyond working solely in coloured pencil and allowing the artwork to become a little more abstract. It still holds onto elements of realism, but with more freedom to explore movement and feeling. Even though I've never been on a country shoot, I really appreciate the deep rooted traditions of field sports and how it helps to preserve the countryside. I wanted to create a piece where the shotgun is loaded and ready, calling this piece 'Start of the Season' which reflects the connection between the change of the seasons and how the countryside shifts in role at each stage of the year. I also wanted to really capture the patterns on the metal and created this print which would go perfectly in any home that loves to honour this age old tradition.
